World Fair Trade Day is tomorrow! This celebration is a relatively new movement to help raise awareness of Fair Trade around the world.
Basically, it’s a series of events taking place all over the world to help people understand how powerful Fair Trade is, and how they can help change the world simply by buying Fair Trade.
If you’re lucky enough to live in or near a city that’s hosting a World Fair Trade Celebration or festival, then you don’t want to miss it. Many cities will have demonstrations, fair trade food vendors, fair trade vendors and artists, as well as speakers talking about the importance of Fair Trade, and how you can get involved.

For instance, there are tons of events going on in Chicago’s Daley Plaza tomorrow. They’re hosting a huge celebration for World Fair Trade Day! New York is also having a festival at Union Square Greenmarket, and Austin is having a film and fair festival which sounds really, really fun.
And what will I be doing?
Well, fortunately Ann Arbor, MI is hosting an awesome fair trade celebration (if it’s not rained out!). There will be world music performance, fair trade chocolate samples, and a celebration at Ten Thousand Villages. So, that’s where I’ll be tomorrow!
