I’m currently reading the book (which is fabulous) and I’m going to go see the movie this weekend. The reason why I’m writing about it here on the blog, however, is that apparently Julia Roberts has some great Fair Trade accesories in the movie. And, her star power is giving Fair Trade Fashion a serious boost.
So what’s she got on?
First, Julia Roberts is wearing a belt from FairTradeWinds. I actually featured these belts here on the blog a few months ago. I’ve long lusted after one because they’re so amazing!
These belts are handmade in Puru, and are fair trade; take a look at the awesomeness:
The bag is fair trade and made out of recycled Kantha quilts.
Isn’t it lovely? Good luck getting one, though. Although there are 18, no, 17 belts left (yes, after wanting one for over 2 years I went ahead and bought my own while writing this post!), the bags are out of stock.
When I go see the movie this weekend I’ll definitely keep an eye out for these fair trade accessories. And I’m super excited about the exposure that this film is going to bring to the fair trade fashion industry!
