Ok, remember when I wrote months ago about green fashion designer Emma Watson’s new partnership with Alberta Ferretti? Well, back when I first heard the news the two weren’t giving one any hints, at all, about what the new line was going to look like.
But finally, just in time for Spring (of course), the line, called Pure Threads, is out. And it’s as fresh and happy as a warm Spring morning!
The line has a lot of white in it. It seems almost 1960s-hippy to me, which I love. It’s very open, light and definitely suited to a summer on the Greek Isles, or skipping through flower-filled meadows.
Of course, just like Emma’s work with People Tree, Pure Threads is 100% fair trade fashion. Poplin, organic cotton and hemp were all used in the line, which I love.
Now, there are only five pieces in Pure Threads. And, I’m sad to say, they’re high fashion, which means “high prices”. All of these pieces are astronomically outside my price range, and they probably are for most of you too. So, we can look at dream.
But kudos to Emma Watson and Alberta Ferretti, who continue to spread the word about fair trade, handmade fashion.
