Although I’m just now getting my feet wet making my own eco-fashion pieces, I haven’t progressed to an actual sewing machine yet. I’m still hand stitching upcycled fabric to used clothes I pick up at Goodwill. Which is why when I see true upcycling masters at work, I’m in awe. And, BrokenGhostCouture is one of those masters.
This gal is amazing. All her clothing is made out of other pieces of clothing. It’s 100% eco-friendly fashion!
Just, see for yourself.
I know, amazing right? Jana, the genius behind these eco-friendly boho creations, says that she used to own a consignment shop, and she saw tons of textiles going to waste. So she began designing clothing to take advantage of all these fabrics. She’s had incredible success on Etsy, and with good reason. She’s shown her clothes at Alberta’s Fashion Week, and then had the spotlight at Vancouver Fashion Week.
Her clothes remind me of free summer afternoons in the backyard listening to Neil Young (wait…that’s what I’m doing right now!) To me they’re hippy with elegant style. I love them so much! So, go check out her Etsy shop pronto. You won’t be disappointed.
