I’ll be the first to admit I have a slight problem with Etsy. Well, slight might be an understatement. I love Etsy with a fierce passion.
The site has given thousands of artists the chance to sell their handmade and vintage goods, and many of them are pursuing their art full time, thanks to the success they’ve had reaching millions of potential customers.
Another great thing about Etsy is that there are tons of eco-friendly, fair trade products for sale. If you’re looking for fair trade or eco-friendly jewelry, clothing, home accessories, bath products and other accessories, you’ve got the entire world at your fingertips. So, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite fair trade and eco-friendly picks from Etsy.
1. Upcycled Crop Top
I love this upcycled crop top from GloriousMom. It’s an old tank that’s been cut, bleached, and torn to give it an entirely updated look. It’s in my Favorites file!
2. Upcycled Lightbulb Aquarium
Ok, so I need for my desk yesterday. This tiny aquarium is sold by HelloMarimo and it’s, as you can see, made from an upcycled lightbulb.
The green ball of moss is called Marimo, from Japan. In Japan, they consider Marimo to be a national treasure, and legend says they bless their owner with luck and happiness. It feeds on light, and will keep its round shape if you give the aquarium a little shake now and then. And I lovelovelove that he put this in an old lightbulb.
3. Upcycled Heart Shaped Shirt
An upcycled shirt with a heart cut out the back? Genius! This awesome upcycled shirt is made by BglorifiedBoutique. Love. Love. Love.
4. Coke Bottle Necklace
I’ve always really liked these Coke bottle necklaces. I love the sea foam green color, and the smoothness of the glass. This great recycled necklace is made by DessinCreations. Can’t you just see this layered with a ton of other necklaces?
