I love promoting businesses that have a clear social conscience. The reason is because caring about others, especially the artisans that are the foundation of a business, is something we care deeply about here at Earth Divas. We give 100% of our profits back to the artisans who make our bags. Our CEO, Ed, doesn’t even take a salary.
There are many, many companies who quietly do the same thing…they walk the walk when it comes to being socially responsible. And, I wanted to highlight a few of those companies so you can go out and support their efforts as well!
1. Tom’s Shoes
Tom’s Shoes is pretty famous because of their One For One commitment. For each pair of shoes you buy, they donate a pair to a child in need.
2. Flip Flop Wine
I lovelovelove Flip Flop Wine; this California vintner not only makes a wonderful (and inexpensive) wine, but they’re also committed to making the world a better place. For every bottle of Flip Flop Wine you purchase, they donate a pair of flip flops to a child in a developing country. These flip flops enable them to avoid disease, and attend school.
If you have a chance to try this wonderful wine (which averages $5-$7 per bottle) I recommend the Cabernet and the Pinot Grigio (which is delightful on a warm night!)
3. Hand In Hand Soaps
I had the chance to try Hand in Hand Soaps last year, and it was a wonderfully luscious (and sustainable) bar of soap. The company is amazing; they use 100% vegetable based ingredients, and every bar is Fair Trade Certified. They donate one bar of soap for every bar purchased (this soap is sent to developing countries to help prevent the spread of disease.) They also donate money for rain forest preservation.
Please consider supporting one of these worthy organizations!
